R.J. Blount carried 27 times for 215 yards and three touchdowns as Pennsauken overcame Cherry Hill West, 27-10, to clinch at least a tie for the West Jersey Football League’s Freedom Division title.
It was the fifth time this season that Blount topped 145 rushing yards. He’s been over 200 four times.
The Indians trailed, 10-7 at the half, but surged into the lead when Blount got loose on the way to his second touchdown of the game; a 95-yard run in the third quarter.
The Indians (5-2) were able to grind out the rest of the game on Blount’s legs and a pair of interceptions by Bryheen Brown, who closed out the scoring with a pick-6 with two minutes left.
Pennsauken can clinch the Freedom Division title outright with a win over Clearview (0-6) on Oct. 25.
Cherry Hill West fell to 2-5.
