Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on Thursday announced that her film, Emergency has finally received the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for screening. She took to her Twitter account on October 17, the actress mentioned that the film’s team had been cleared by the Censor Board of Film Certification and they would soon announce the release date. She took to her Twitter page and wrote, ‘We are glad to announce we have received the censor certificate for our movie Emergency, we will be announcing the release date soon. Well, the decision comes days after it was reported that Zee Studios, the production company backing the film told the Bombay High Court that they had agreed to make all the modifications after their advice. As per a report in the media, the film will be released after the Punjab elections in November. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) informed the Bombay High Court that Kangana who is also the co-producer of the film has agreed to the cuts suggested by the board. The film was initially scheduled for release on September 6, 2024, but it got delayed. Emergency is the period of emergency from June 1975 to March 1977 in India. The film is directed by Kangana Ranaut and she will play the role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, in the film. Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, Mahima Chaudhry, and the late actor Satish Kaushik will play a prominent role in the film.
