Once considered a physics prodigy, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi now finds himself at an unexpected crossroads, currently without a job. His journey has been extraordinary since childhood, but recently, it has taken a turn that few could have predicted. Born on September 9, 1987, in Bihar, Tulsi’s brilliance began making headlines at a very young age. He completed his school education by the age of just 9. Here’s the remarkable story of Tathagat Avatar Tulsi.

After completing his schooling, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi had already earned a B.Sc. degree from Patna Science College by the age of 11. By the time he turned 12, he had completed his M.Sc. He then went on to pursue a PhD from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bangalore, which he completed by the age of 21. His PhD research focused on the “Generalizations of the Quantum Search Algorithm.”

He also co-authored a research paper with renowned scientist Lov Grover, though the paper was never published.

Amidst national recognition for his academic achievements, Tathagat was appointed as a contractual professor at IIT Bombay in 2010. However, life took a difficult turn in 2011 when his health began to decline. He developed a high fever, later diagnosed as an allergy.

His illness marked the beginning of his struggles. In 2013, due to health concerns, Tathagat took a four-year long leave in Patna. Unfortunately, following his prolonged absence, IIT Bombay terminated his services in 2019, effectively ending his academic career at the institute.

Tathagat, was once considered one of the most talented Asian children getting nicknames like “Superteen” by Science, “Physics Prodigy” by The TIMES, and “Master Mind” by The WEEK, is currently unemployed and trying to rebuild his life.

Now, Tathagat Avatar Tulsi is entering a new chapter in life. No longer in the classroom, he has turned his focus towards studying law. His sharp intellect is seeking new opportunities, and many who once drew inspiration from him are watching closely to see what the future holds for this once-brilliant academic.
