A MAN has died three weeks after he was seriously injured in an alleged street attack.
The man, named locally as Malcolm McCandlish, died in hospital after the alleged attack in Irvine town centre on September 24.
He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow after the alleged incident on the town’s High Street.
Tragically, Malcolm, 43, died in hospital yesterday.
His heartbroken family have been left devastated by his death.
One local paid tribute to Malcolm after he passed away.
They said: “Malcolm was a loving son, brother, and uncle.
“He made a difference in the lives of those around him.”
A GoFundMe was set up to support Malcolm’s family cover the funeral costs.
The organiser of the fundraiser wrote: “Due to the sudden nature of Malcolm’s passing, the family is unfortunately financially unprepared for the funeral costs.
“The family would like to ask if you knew Malcolm, if you’d consider donating towards the costs to make sure he gets the send off he deserves.
“The family would be grateful for any donation whatsoever.
“Malcolm leaves behind a loving mother, father and sister, a devoted son and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all his family.”
So far the fundraiser has raised £430 of its £8k target.
