Aasif Sheikh made his film debut with Rama o Rama in 1987, which received average reviews. He later appeared in several flop films that included Agneekaal, Muqaddar Ka Badshaah, Haque, Yaara Dildara, and a few other projects. However, to survive in the industry, Aasif started taking up supporting roles in the films. He also played villains in a few movies, including Karan Arjun and Haseena Mann Jayegi.
Aasif faced strong competition with his contemporaries, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan. Owing to poor office record, he wasn’t getting films. He starved hard to overcome dull phase. In an interview, he opened up about his struggles and said that he ate maagi for lunch and dinner continuous six months.
After a flop career in films, he decided to return to television and did couple of shows. In 1999, Aasif got his breakthrough with the popular television sitcom Yes Boss. He received massive success after that.
In 2015, Aasif Sheikh starred in one of the most successful comedy shows which gave him new opportunities as an actor. Yes, we are talking about Vibhuti Narayan from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai. He was even seen in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.
Talking about his personal life, Aasif got married to Zeba Sheikh and have two kids a son, Alyjah Iman and a daughter, Mariyam. Today, he is happily married and is renowned for his comic roles.
