A SECTION of Scotland’s busiest motorway has been shut following a crash.
The smash happened on the M8 at junction 7 near Eurocentral near Glasgow shortly after 10am this morning.
An eastbound section of the major route has been closed to traffic.
Emergency services are currently at the scene.
It is not yet known if anyone has been injured or how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
Drivers in the area have been advised to use alternative routes.
Motorists have also been told to expect delays.
Traffic Scotland wrote on X: “The M8 is currently closed eastbound due to a road traffic collision. Emergency services are at the scene.
“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and expect some delays in their journey.”
Traffic Scotland has since confirmed that all lanes have reopened.
Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
