70th National Film Award: Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Group wins Best Film in AVGC for Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’s VFX

Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and others, won big at the 70th National Film Awards 2024. The film’s producer Karan Johar, director Ayan Mukerji, and Namit Malhotra were honored with the National Film Award for Best Film in AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comic) at a ceremony in New Delhi, where the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu presented the awards.

The film also received accolades for Best Male Playback Singer (Arijit Singh for Kesariya), Best Film in AVGC, and Best Music Director (Songs), won by Pritam. Under Namit Malhotra’s leadership, the Prime Focus Group delivered stunning visual effects that brought the film’s fantastical world to life. The movie became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film that year.
