IAS officer Anamika Ramesh earned her B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communication from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Tiruchirappalli. She later pursued an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. Although she initially worked in the private sector, Anamika realized that her job was not allowing her to create the social impact she aspired to. Motivated by a desire to bring meaningful change to society, she decided to enter the civil services. In 2017, she moved to Delhi to start her civil services preparation, enrolling in coaching for the UPSC exam. Through her hard work and dedication, she secured the 116th rank in the 2019 UPSC exam.

Cracked UPSC in the fourth attempt

IAS officer Anamika Ramesh drew inspiration from her father, Ramesh Chand Meena, who had cleared the civil services exam on his third attempt. His journey motivated Anamika to pursue a similar path. After securing All India Rank 116 in her fourth attempt in the 2019 UPSC exam, she was allocated the Tamil Nadu cadre. Throughout her preparation, Anamika remained committed, believing that while the civil services journey is challenging, it can be conquered with perseverance and patience.

Her father, Ramesh Chand Meena, an IIT-Delhi graduate, is currently serving as the Member Secretary of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDATN). His success and guidance were key influences in shaping Anamika’s career path.

IAS officer Anamika Ramesh has an impressive professional journey before joining the civil service. She initially worked as an intern in a sales marketing company in the private sector and then transitioned to a role as an associate in Transaction Advisory Services at EY (Ernst & Young). After clearing the UPSC exam, her first posting was as Assistant Collector. Following that, she served as Assistant Secretary at NITI Aayog, and later as Sub Collector in Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu. She also took on the role of National Level Master Trainer in the Election Commission of India. Currently, Anamika holds the position of Additional Collector in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu.
