The action-packed movie Devara: Part 1 debuted in theatres on September 27 and starred Jr NTR in a dual role as a father and son named Devara and Varadha. The film also starred Saif Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Prakash Raj, Srikanth Meka, Tom Shine Chacko, and Narain in key parts. Saif played the master wrestler Bhaira, whose seemingly unbeatable world is turned upside down by Jr. NTR’s character. The film opened to mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.

Devara: Part 1 brought in an additional Rs 12.25 crore on Sunday, October 6, the tenth day of its release, according to sacnilk. The Jr NTR starrer is currently the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2024 with a global box office total of almost Rs 360 crore. It has outperformed the box office receipts for the superhero movies HanuMan, starring Teja Sajja, and Fighter, an aerial action movie starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.

The movie made a total of Rs. 82.5 crore on its first day of release; of that, the Hindi version brought in Rs. 7.5 crore. The Hindi version brought in a total of Rs. 44 crore as of the first week’s earnings, out of Rs. 215.6 crore. The film made 2 crores and 5.8 crores on its second Friday and Saturday, bringing its total Hindi gross to Rs. 51.8 crore. During its first nine days at the box office, Devara – Part 1 did well and brought in an estimated Rs 230.85 crore in India. On its tenth day, the actioner brought in approximately 12.25 crore India net for all languages (preliminary estimations). The film’s total now stands at Rs 243.1 crore.

The three Indian films of 2024 that have brought in more money worldwide than the Jr. NTR’s Devara are Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi epic action drama starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan; Stree 2, a horror comedy starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana; and The Greatest of All Time, an action thriller starring Thalapathy Vijay, Sneha, Prabhu Deva, Jayaram, Mohan, and Yogi Babu.
