At the prestigious Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest, held at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, Tillotama Shome won the Best Actor (Female) award for her remarkable performances in Netflix’s hit web series Kota Factory Season 3 and Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper. Shome took the stage to deliver a heartfelt acceptance speech, reflecting on her journey through two contrasting roles.

In her speech, Shome expressed gratitude towards the directors of both shows, who helped her navigate the unique challenges of each character. “They were both different worlds but I had so much support from both the directors,” she said, acknowledging the collaborative effort behind her success. Shome portrayed two distinct characters—Pooja Didi in Kota Factory 3 and Bindi in Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper—both of whom resonated deeply with audiences.
“With Pooja didi, it was chemistry. With Bindi, it was her Bollywood fantasies,” she explained, shedding light on the contrasting emotional landscapes of her roles. Shome also expressed her appreciation for Netflix, the platform that brought these compelling stories to life: “I am grateful to Netflix for bringing me on board these wonderful stories.”
What made the win particularly special for the actress was the fact that it was a people’s choice award. “It feels special because it was a people’s choice award, that makes me happy,” she shared, acknowledging the power of the audience in shaping her success. Shome emphasized how the acceptance of such diverse shows and characters by the viewers was a testament to the evolving tastes of the Indian audience. “The fact that the viewers watched and embraced two such diverse shows and characters emboldens one to declare: Do not underestimate the audience. They will surprise you.”
Shome’s speech was a celebration not only of her personal achievement but also of the rich storytelling landscape that OTT platforms in India are increasingly offering. “Tell a story true to your conviction, the audience will understand its heart more than you can imagine,” she concluded.
