But the horror-comedy was loved so much that in a year when the industry is struggling to give back-to-back hits, it emerged as a big success. Well, there’s another such movie that became a big hit this year. No, we aren’t talking about Stree 2 or the 2023 movie. Animal. We are talking about HanuMan.
Directed by Prasanth Varma, the Telugu superhero adventure movie stars Teja Sajja in the lead role. The movie was made on a budget of Rs 40 crore. However, it received so much love from the audience that it earned over Rs 300 crore at the box office. HanuMan was released in theatres on January 12, 2024. It was the month where people were only talking about the exciting story and incredible performances.
Usually, the film industry avoids releasing movies so early at the beginning of new year. However, the Prasanth Varma directorial was quite brilliant and the remarkable storytelling pushed it towards becoming a big blockbuster at the box office. In March, Teja Sajja shared an Instagram post celebrating the movie’s 50 days of release. The actor wrote, “Thought it became a thing of the past to witness 50- and 100-day celebrations but never imagined that we would recreate the moment today. Only experienced the feeling when I worked as a child artist; glad to have one such moment of my own now. Not everyone believed in the belief we had in our film; some even laughed when we said we expected the film to have atleast a 4-week run. Here we are at 8 weeks today. Your love has transcended all and today the obstacles faced and the criticism that came along the way have become sweet memories

Director Prasanth Varma is all set to make a sequel to the movie titled Jai HanuMan. However, the director has not revealed any details about its casting.
