The show Jodha Akbar, which was released in 2013, was loved by everyone. Overnight, the intriguing storyline caught people’s attention, and the show became a household name. However, despite its immense popularity, the show has a dark reality that the audience rarely knows about. The actress who played the character of Jodha once claimed that she was sexually harassed by the show’s director, Santram Verma. Yes, you read that right. Following the accusations, the actress decided to quit the show. Now, the director has finally opened up about the matter. In an interview, he denied the allegations and stated that he and Paridhi shared a completely professional relationship.
During an interview, Santram said, “I have not sexually harassed Paridhi or anyone else. Paridhi and I are completely professional and are doing our work. I have never even talked to her on the phone, so how can I harass her? I have not even shot Paridhi’s scenes. I always avoid shooting with her and maintain a distance because I do not want any kind of confrontation.” Meanwhile, the actress alleged that despite knowing about the accusations, the producer of the serial, Ekta Kapoor, remained silent and did not take any action.
In another interview, Paridhi also opened up about the matter. She said, “It’s over now, and I don’t want to talk about the past. Currently, I am happy that Santram is not shooting with me. I am shooting with other directors, especially Gautam Nagrath. I spoke to Ekta ma’am, and things fell into place.”
Paridhi revealed that during the shoot of the show, she was given a lip-lock scene with Rajat Tokas, who played Akbar. She said, “Yes, I had a problem with the kissing scene, which was later changed. Even a body double was used for this because I was not comfortable with it. Everything is going smoothly now. In the future, I will do romantic scenes with Rajat, provided I am made to feel comfortable.”
Apart from Jodha Akbar, Paridhi has also appeared in other serials, including Tere Mere Sapne, Ruk Jana Nahi, Code Red, Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, Patiala Babes, Jag Janani Maa Vaishno Devi, and Chiku Ki Mummy Door Ki.
