Le Sserafim’s ‘Crazy’ Custom Outfits to Be Displayed at Swarovski’s ‘Masters of Light’ Exhibition in Seoul

MILAN — A K-pop dazzling fashion moment is to mark the new leg of Swarovski’s traveling exhibition “Masters of Light,” which is set to land in Seoul this month.

To be staged at XYZ Seoul, in the city’s vibrant Seongsu district, and run from Oct. 18 to 30, the show will display shimmering stage costumes and red carpet looks worn by the likes of Harry Styles and Rihanna along with costumes from global K-pop sensations Le Sserafim.

In particular, visitors will be able to see the custom outfits from the girl band’s “Crazy” music video, which were designed in collaboration with Swarovski to sparkle at every move of the group’s dynamic choreography.

In addition, the show will display the five microphones the group’s members used during their recent performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. These were adorned with a total of 24,000 Swarovski crystals and individually designed by each singer according to their favorite color combinations. Incidentally, earlier this year Swarovski named Kim Chaewon, a member of the band, as its local ambassador for the market.

Overall, the exhibition is aimed at celebrating Swarovski’s almost 130 years of heritage and influence across the worlds of fashion, jewelry and pop culture, exploring its artistry in all things crystals and the impact it had on culture, from its origins in Austria — where Daniel Swarovski established the firm in 1895 — to the present day, under the vision of global creative director Giovanna Engelbert.

The show encompasses iconic pieces from the company’s inception in 19th-century Vienna to the K-pop scene of modern-day Seoul through an immersive journey divided into seven sections, or “Chambers of Wonder.”

These will also display a selection of 10 crystal-embellished pieces from fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Armani as well as jewelry pieces, figurines and crystals, including the largest crystal chaton ever created. Other highlights will comprise showpieces from the Galaxy fine jewelry collection made with laboratory grown Swarovski Created Diamonds.

The exhibition will be open to the public free of charge upon registration on Swarovski’s Kakao channel.

As reported, the show premiered at Shanghai’s Museum of Contemporary Art last year, before landing in Milan’s 18th century Palazzo Citterio in June with an opening event during fashion week that attracted the likes of Jessica Alba and Gwyneth Paltrow, to name a few.
