Radhika was born on November 1, 1986. She is from a Tulu-speaking family and was named Radhika Poojary. Later, after her first marriage, she married for the second time in 2006 to H. D. Kumaraswamy, who is Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel of India presently. He has also served as the 18th Chief Minister of Karnataka.
