Archana Puran Singh opens up about ‘laughing’ through the episode after she received the news of her mother-in-law’s death; says, “How did I laugh? I don’t know” : Bollywood News

Being a regular in the shows hosted by Kapil Sharma, actress Archana Puran Singh is appreciated for her laughter and is often known to add ample entertainment quotient along with the rest of the cast of the show. In a recent interaction, the actress recalled the flipside to being a star wherein she opened up about the challenges she faced including the time when she had to laugh after taking in the news of her mother-in-law’s death.

Archana Puran Singh, who is married to actor Parmeet Sethi, recalled the incident during an interview with Instant Bollywood, wherein she said, “I think I had almost completed the episode; I was halfway through when I got the news about my mother-in-law’s death. I was getting goosebumps thinking about it, so I immediately said, ‘I have to go,’ but at the same time, I knew I had to I finish the episode. The team told me to just sit there and give laughter, and they would edit it wherever there was a joke.”

She also reminisced about how difficult it was for her to perform in that mental state and how she managed to shoot for the scene.  “Now imagine what’s going on in my head—my mother-in-law has just died. How did I laugh? I don’t know. It’s been 30-40 years in this industry, and you know the producer’s money is at stake. You can’t leave work incomplete,” she added.

Currently, Archana Puran Singh continues her role as the ‘laughing judge’ in the ongoing show The Great Indian Kapil Show which streams on Netflix. Along with Kapil Sharma as the host, the series also features Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur playing key characters in the show that entertains audience and their special guest celebrities alike, with hilarious comedy acts.
