Before Karisma was born, Raj Kapoor reportedly set a unique condition—he would only visit the hospital if the newborn had blue eyes. Yes, you read that right! Babita revealed this quirky demand in the book Raj Kapoor: The One and Only Showman, adding a charming twist to the Kapoor family‘s legendary tales.

Babita recalled the day Karisma was born, sharing that the entire family was present with her at Breach Candy Hospital, except for her father-in-law. He had insisted he would only come to the hospital if the newborn had blue eyes. Fortunately, Karisma was born with deep blue eyes, just like her grandfather.

Babita explained that Raj Kapoor wouldn’t go to the hospital unless he was told the newborn had dark blue eyes. She felt grateful and relieved when she saw that Karisma’s eye color met his expectation.

In the book, Ritu Nanda recalls how, as a child, Karisma Kapoor would sit on Raj Kapoor’s lap and express her dream of becoming an actress. Raj Kapoor not only encouraged her aspirations but also predicted that she would rise to become a prominent and successful star.
