We are finally in the week when The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 will air its first episode. The comedy series on Netflix features Kapil Sharma, Sunil Grover, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Rajiv Thakur, and Archana Puran Singh. While Kapil hosts the show, everyone else except Archana performs to entertain the celebrity guests and the audience. Singh is a permanent guest on the show whose main job is to laugh out loud at the jokes and skit.
One might wonder how much a person gets paid for laughing their heart out on the show. Well, Archana Puran Singh has revealed that compared to others on the show, she gets paid less. The actress spoke to Siddharth Kannan about the same in a latest interview. First, Singh was asked if people ever told her to tone down her laughter. To this, Singh gave an interesting answer: “Woh log aaj toh dharti par nahi chalte honge. Jisne mujhe bol diya ki aap kam haso (Those people might not be on this earth who would suggest me to tone my laughter down).”
To this, her The Great Indian Kapil Show co-star Sunil Grover interrupted, saying that how can one say something like this when Archana Puran Singh is getting paid to laugh? Hearing this, Archana laughed and agreed with Sunil and revealed that she is happy with her work. Further, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress revealed that others earn double the money she earns. So they have to do the hard work. Singh stated that she’s getting paid to laugh; others are getting paid for their hard work. “Some get paid for their beauty, others for their talent, but I get paid for all of that,” stated Archana.
Further in this entertainment news, before Archana, it was Navjot Singh Sidhu who was the permanent guest on Kapil Sharma’s shows Comedy Nights With Kapil and The Kapil Sharma Show. However, in 2019, Sidhu was replaced with Archana after his comments on the Pulwama terror attack that led to controversies. Since 2019, Archana has become a crucial part of the Kapil’s show.
