Zayed Khan, who captivated audiences with his performance in ‘Main Hoon Na’, recently recalled the moment when Shah Rukh Khan expressed that he hoped his son, Aryan Khan, would grow up to be like him.
During a conversation with Subhojit Gosh, Zayed shared, “Shah bhai would always say on the mic, ‘I hope my son Aryan grows up to be like Zayed.’ I met Aryan after a long time, and he’s looking so tough now.SRK jokingly asked, ‘Want to arm wrestle?’ and I said, ‘Sure, let’s do it.’ Shah bhai then came over and asked, ‘How is he?’ I looked at Aryan and replied, ‘He’s got the spark.’ SRK asked, ‘What spark?’ and I responded, ‘The 440-volt kind.'”
Zayed discussed his collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan in an interview with Rohit Roy on RiteBite Max Protein TV. He stated that SRK is extremely knowledgeable and always well-prepared. Zayed observed that even with SRK’s strong performances, he never put pressure on others to succeed at the same level. SRK, on the other hand, would constantly pay close attention and give his all in return.
Zayed also recounted a special incident that happened while filming a scene in which his character, who doesn’t have a father, delivers a long monologue in the presence of SRK’s character. With Farah Khan directing and Manikandan handling camera work, it was his first time performing alongside SRK and Kirron Kher. Zayed acknowledged that he had messed up the scene three times and that he felt the energy drop, as if people were losing confidence in him.
Zayed said that he experienced a rush of confidence and performed the scene when he got back to the set. Following the completion of the shot, there was a slight pause before everyone in attendance applauded.
Directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan, ‘Main Hoon Na’ was released in 2004. The film marked Farah Khan’s directorial debut. It starred Shah Rukh Khan, Sushmita Sen, Suniel Shetty, Amrita Rao, and Zayed Khan, alongside Kirron Kher, Murali Sharma, Kabir Bedi, Boman Irani, and Naseeruddin Shah.
