The owner of a Midlands pub has blasted a Tripadvisor review, after a disgruntled patron dubbed the bar an “absolutely vile place”.
The customer, known only as Julie, vowed she would never return to the Plough Inn in Far Forest, near Bewdley, writing that she had an “absolutely shocking experience” while visiting.
The scathing critique was posted on Tripadvisor following her August visit, and although the Plough Inn is boasting a 3.5 rating from over 1,300 reviews on the website, Julie was still left disappointed.
Her grievances included a scant carvery selection and underwhelming dessert portions, which she detailed in her one-star condemnation.
Julie didn’t mince words in her review, writing: “Absolutely shocking experience! Never ever again! They need new management and staff!
“As soon as we got there a grumpy and smirky looking young girl gave us menus that had seen better days! They were all creased! Only one person working behind the bar which they were very slow! Then to be told “cash only” very weird and crafty!
“We was then told after we had ordered that there wasn’t much left at the carvery so what was there was what’s left. Absolutely disgusting for 7.15pm!
Puddings had no taste and the portioning of the lemon drizzle slice! Well… wasn’t even a slice! Absolutely appalling and of course definitely won’t be returning! Absolutely vile place.”
The owner of the Plough Inn, Mark has hit back at Julie’s complaint. Defending his establishment, Mark wrote: “Hi Julie, Reading all your reviews I’m at the opinion your a bit of a tool, nothing good to say about any body with the exception of Costa.
“I strongly suggest you stay at home. I’m in Majorca at the moment and we’ve just had an Indian meal, half a tandoori chicken my main, when it came out it was four drumsticks absolutely appalling.
“But I wouldn’t give them a bad review (JUST GET A LIFE) Mark.”
