Mumbai, August 31: Chinese-owned British carmaker Morris Garage has officially pulled the wraps off the 2025 MG ZS Hybrid globally. For the uninitiated, MG ZS retails in the Indian market as Astor. The SUV costs GBP 21,995 (around INR 24.4 lakh) in the UK market. It will continue to take on the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara in the mid-size SUV space. The 2025 Astor is one of the eight models that MG plans to launch next year. However, there’s no official word on the exact timeline for when the 2025 Astor will launch in the country.
Aesthetically, the new MG ZS Hybrid now looks more sportier than the outgoing model, which aligns with the brand’s strategy for the global market. It has a large front grille with a honeycomb mesh design, LED DRLs bar running across the face, revised wheel arches, new alloy wheels, a revamped rear bumper, and wrapped-around LED taillamps. On the inside, the new MG ZS Hybrid Astor gets an updated cabin complemented by leather upholstery, new features and tech. It now has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment unit and a new 7-inch digital instrument panel, giving it a premium touch. Other features include a vertical wireless charging pad, automatic headlamps, 360-degree camera, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, rear privacy glass, heated front seats and steering wheel, and more. Internationally, the 2025 MG Astor draws power from a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder engine paired with a 100kW electric motor and a 1.83 kWh battery pack. The engine makes 101 bhp and 250 Nm individually. In combination, power output surges to 192 bhp and 343 Nm.
