Cook bacon in four minutes without a frying pan for the ‘perfect bacon sandwich’

Many people enjoy bacon as part of breakfast, but cooking it on the hob can result in lots of fat in order to get it crispy.

Luckily, there’s a super easy method to achieve crispy results with an air fryer, using no oil.

The recipe from BBC Good Food said: “Cook bacon in an air fryer to achieve a crispy texture with less fat.

“The perfect bacon sandwich starts here.”

It has more than 30 five-star ratings with lots of people raving about how “tasty” and “delicious” the bacon is in the air fryer.

The recipe calls for six rashers of streaky bacon, or three rashers of back bacon and will serve between one and two people.

Start by simply laying the bacon in a single layer in the base of your air fryer, making sure the layers aren’t overlapping.

The size of your air fryer basket will determine how many you can cook at once but you should be able to get them all in there.

Set the appliance to 200C and preheat if necessary before adding the bacon to the basket.

Cook the rashers for four to six minutes, leaving them for a further four if you’re after a really crispy result.

Back bacon will take around four to eight minutes, depending on how you like the end result.

If you are cooking in batches, the recipe advises that the second batch will usually be quicker as the air fryer will already be heated up.

Remove the bacon using tongs carefully and place it on kitchen paper to soak off any excess fat if needed before serving.

Serve with toast and butter or use the bacon for waffles and pancakes along with maple syrup.

One woman who commented on the recipe explained how she’s even ditched her toaster to also cook the bread in the air fryer.

Sausages can also be cooked in the appliance in as little as 10 minutes at 180C.

Turn the sausages every five minutes until they are cooked through and pair them with the bacon for a tasty breakfast.
