On West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s statement ‘Bengal jalega, to poora Bharat jalega’, BJP leader Agnimitra Paul on August 30 asserted that if Mamata Banerjee was supervising the situation, then why didn’t she ask about the FIR not being registered for 14 hours. She further alleged that Mamata Banerjee, is fully prepared for not serving justice to ‘Abhaya’. He said, “…Mamata Banerjee knows politics really well. She says that she was supervising the situation. If it is true then why didn’t she ask about the FIR not being registered for 14 hours? The body should have been preserved for the 2nd post-mortem, why it was not done? Did you know, the parents of the victim were bribed to keep silent?… Mamata Banerjee, you are fully prepared for not serving justice to ‘Abhaya’… The way she is saying things is a language of an anti-national. If someone else would have said such things then, a case under UAPA must have been registered…”
