THE elderly passenger of a car involved in a road smash has died eight days after the horror collision.
Cops revealed the 85-year-old woman was taken to Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, Fife, after the two-car crash on August 15.
But she died of her injuries eight days later on Friday, August 23.
The crash on the A909 near Burntisland involved a silver Vauxhall Corsa car and a white BMW 1 Series.
The woman was a passenger in the BMW.
Her family has asked for privacy.
A 74-year-old man also suffered serious injuries and was also taken to Victoria Hospital.
A 17-year-old female has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence.
The smash happened just before 7pm on the evening of Thursday, August 15.
Sergeant Lee Walkingshaw spoke of the tragedy today.

In a statement released by Police Scotland, he said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at what is a very difficult time for them.
“Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
