THE son of Premier League icon Darren Fletcher was dubbed a “superstar in the making” after scoring an incredible goal for Manchester United’s U21s in the EFL Trophy.

Vimal Yoganathan scored twice to put the hosts 2-0 up by half-time, but United’s Ethan Ennis got one back in the 81st minute.

Fletcher then turned the match on its head completely with two goals in quick succession – one of which was a wonder strike.

With the score at 2-2 the 17-year-old unleashed a stunning half-volley from close to 35 yards out.

The ball flew into the top-left corner, leaving the Barnsley players gobsmacked.

Fans took to social media to react to the strike, with one person writing: “Superstar in the making here.”

Another commented: “Absolutely superb.”

A third wrote: “Kid is truly a baller.”

Fletcher has been with the Red Devils since he joined from Manchester City last summer.

He signed his first professional contract in April and is now expected to follow in the footsteps of his dad, Darren.
