Ukraine destroys second bridge in Kursk region – POLITICO

The latest strike follows the destruction a road bridge in the Glushkovsky district on Friday, also across the Seim River. Alexei Smirnov, Kursk’s acting governor, confirmed Friday’s attack on Telegram without providing details.

The two blows leave the Russian military with only one bridge in the Glushkovsky district of the Kursk Oblast, limiting Moscow’s resupply efforts, the  pro-Kremlin Telegram channel Mash said. Both bridges were destroyed with HIMARS missiles, according to Mash.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said late Saturday that Kyiv’s forces are strengthening their positions in the Kursk region. He said Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi had reported that Kyiv’s troops continued their advance and also took more Russian servicemen as prisoners of war.

“The operation is unfolding exactly as we expected,” Zelenskyy said in his nightly address. “Now we are reinforcing our positions. The foothold of our presence is getting stronger.”
