‘Please pray for Floyd’ – Mbalula mocks Malema and Shivambu

ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula says former Economic Freedom Fighters deputy president Floyd Shivambu won’t last at MK Party.

The 41-year-old politician dropped a bomshell earlier this week when he announced he was leaving EFF. Having co-founded the party with Julius Malema 11 years ago, Shivambu resigned with immediate effect to join MK Party.

Speaking at the memorial of Ngoako Simon Lekganyane, father of ANC NEC member, Soviet Lekganyane, Mbalula mentioned Shivambu.

“Please pray for former EFF Deputy President Floyd Shivambu,” Mbalula joked.

I don’t believe he will last a year in Jacob Zuma’s MK Party. I heard Floyd Shivambu say he won’t come to the ANC because I don’t want him. I don’t know Floyd; I only know him through Julius Malema’s introductions,” he said.

I only know Floyd because of Malema, says Mbalula

The ANC secretary-general also took a jibe at EFF leader Julius Malema.

“I greet the leaders of the oppostion, although the opposition is only one person which is Mr Malema. He knows we always defeat him here in Limpopo,” Mbalula said.

Mbalula mocks Julius Malema and Floyd Shivambu.

“I had to greet Julius Malema because he will hold a press briefing saying I did not greet him. Comrade Soviet Please stop singing Jacob Zuma’s songs, Jacob Zuma hurt us really badly,” he joked.

Will the EFF survive following the departure of Floyd?
