Kolkata: The parents of the deceased Post Graduate Medical Student of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital on Saturday told media persons that they doubted if it was an act of one person and there was a role of some insider, after seeing their daughter’s body. They also claimed that they have doubts if she was murdered in the seminar room or some other room.

The parents blamed “negligence” on part of her Department and said the police had initially harassed them on August 9, the day her daughter’s body was found.

The father of the deceased doctor claimed that they have doubts if she was killed in the seminar room. “Police and CBI has been probing. NCW also came. I doubt if my daughter was killed in seminar. When she last spoke to her mother, she said they will have dinner at 11.15 at seminar hall,” he said, also mentioned that she wrote diary everyday and her diary was seized.

“I was present when the seizure list was being prepared. The police took out some reports and medicines from my daughter’s bag. They were trying to divert the case. They told me ‘your daughter was sick, she used to have so many medicines. There are so many reports’,” the woman said.

“I told them that my daughter was having the medicines because of an unknown bite mark, after which they could not divert the matter,” she said.

“We were asked if she was on medication as some medicines were found from her bag. I told them that some Medical Represenative has given it to her,” she said. Her mother claimed she was not even allowed to see her (deceased daughter’s) face initially once despite repeated requests. The mother of deceased said the police had harassed them on August 9, the day her daughter’s body was found.”I was not allowed to see my daughter’s face. What I have seen, it is not possible for one person to do such an act,” her mother told media. “We were told that my daughter was unwell when I got a call from the hospital.

She told media persons they first got the call from the hospital on August 9 at 10.53am. They reached the hospital at 12.30pm and were allowed to see their daughter’s body at 3pm, she said. They were made to sit in the chest medicine department for the entire period, she alleged.

The victim’s mother also alleged that the police tried to divert the case and told them that their daughter was sick after showing them medicines and prescriptions while the seizure list was being prepared. “We faced so much harassment till the body was brought. They kept us under pressure. The police also tried to damage my daughter’s car. I told them my daughter has just passed away, please do not damage her favourite car,” the mother said.

The deceased Medical student’s mother said she informed the Bengal Chief Minister, when she came to her home, that there was involvement of some insider and the CM looked at the policeman accompanying her.

She claimed that said she told chief minister Mamata Banerjee that Sanjay Roy, who was arrested for rape and murder, was not the main accused and someone else was involved in the crime. “The chief minister told me the main accused has been arrested. I told her I don’t consider the person to be the main accused. If someone from inside was not involved, how could he (Roy) get to know that my daughter was alone?” the Medical student’s mother said.

“We blame her department. Nobody from her department contact us on that day. No body from her department has contacted us till date since her death,” the girl’s father claimed.

“Someone from inside was definitely involved. The chief minister looked at the police officer (who was accompanying her) and said ‘this is my question too’,” the girl’s mother said today. EOM
