Deadpool & Wolverine Box Office Collection Day 4: Did Ryan Reynolds-Hugh Jackman’s Film Dips on First Monday in India, Check Analysis

Deadpool & Wolverine’s first Monday box office receipts showed a sharp decline. The science fiction action movie brought in Rs 6.75 crore on day four in all Indian languages.

The third instalment in the Deadpool series, Deadpool & Wolverine, stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in their respective roles as the foul-mouthed superhero and X-Men mutant. The Marvel film barely made Rs 7 crore at the Indian box office on its first Monday, dropping to single digits. This was a significant decline as compared to its Sunday profits of Rs 22.30 crore. The superhero film made Rs 22.65 crore on day two, a little increase over its opening day collection of Rs 21 crore, even as Sunday’s earnings fell short of Saturday’s total. At the box office, Deadpool & Wolverine have brought in a total of Rs 72.7 crore in India.

Deadpool & Wolverine Monday Report

Monday’s 6.75 crore came in a little short of expectations. However, this was not unexpected, since Sunday’s actual collections had also been somewhat lower than Saturday’s, indicating that Monday’s trends would be a little different from expectations. If these figures are considered separately, though, Monday still performs better than the most of the movies that have been released this year, as most of them have not had their first day of sales.

Despite a sharp decline in box office receipts, the movie is still doing better than Godzilla x Kong, the other major Hollywood blockbuster of 2024. On its opening Monday, it brought in Rs 6.75 crore, and by the time it closed its theatre run, it had amassed Rs 106.99 crore. Deadpool & Wolverine are expected to surpass the Rs 100 crore milestone in India in the first week of release, with no competition in sight. The film is getting close to Rs 4,000 crore globally.

About Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’

For the unversed, Disney, along with Avatar, views the movie and television rights to the characters as some of the most significant intellectual property acquired with its $71.3 billion acquisition of 21st Century Fox in 2019.

India.com’s review of Deadpool & Wolverine read, “Deadpool and Wolverine dive into a gripping narrative, establishing their place in the action-packed MCU. Much like previous Deadpool sequels, the film thrives on delivering pulse-pounding moments that keep the audience on the edge of their seats. As you immerse yourself in the Ryan-Jackman collaboration, you’ll find yourself in the right place. With high-octane action, a stellar cast, stunning VFX, and Deadpool’s witty sense of humor, the film offers an all-in-one package for Marvel fans. This is the crossover they’ve been waiting for.”
