San Diego Comic-Con 2024 delivered a major surprise to fans of the DC universe with the unveiling of the official trailer for The Penguin starring Colin Farrell. This highly anticipated spin-off of Matt Reeves’ critically acclaimed The Batman will premiere on HBO on September 19, with subsequent episodes dropping weekly.

Colin Farrell reprises his iconic role as Oz Cobble, better known as The Penguin, in this eight-episode limited series. Set in the gritty underworld of Gotham City, the show delves deeper into the character’s rise to power following the demise of Carmine Falcone.
Joining Farrell is a stellar cast, including Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz (Victor Aguilar), Michael Kelly (Johnny Viti), Shohreh Aghdashloo (Nadia Maroni), Deirdre O’Connell (Francis Cobb), Clancy Brown (Salvatore Maroni), James Madio (Milos Grapa), Scott Cohen (Luca Falcone), Michael Zegen (Alberto Falcone), Carmen Ejogo (Eve Karlo), Theo Rossi (Dr. Julian Rush).
Created by showrunner Lauren LeFranc, The Penguin is executive produced by a formidable team including Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, and Craig Zobel, who also directs the first three episodes. The series is a collaboration between Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions, Dylan Clark Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.
