L’Oréal Paris South Africa has revealed a new campaign partnership with South African rugby icons Faf de Klerk and Cheslin Kolbe.
De Klerk, Kolbe, three campaigns
Markedly, de Klerk will be featured in the L’Oréal Paris Elvive and Men Expert campaigns. Kolbe will spearhead the L’Oréal Paris Men Expert campaign, as reported by Bizcommunity.
Ayanda Mackay, brand business lead for L’Oréal Paris Southern Africa, stated that they are very proud about this collaboration. She said that De Klerk’s and Kolbe’s dedication, passion, and authenticity fit well with the essence of their brand.
“This campaign is a testament to our commitment to celebrating empowerment, honouring cultural richness, and emphasising the importance of self-care for the modern man.”

De Klerk is known for his flowing blonde hair and his cheeky display of underwear. Last month, he launched his own swimwear line Faffies, sporting his signature SA national flag briefs. The swimwear brand features swimming briefs with the national flag print and ones with the Springbok emblem on them. It currently caters to men and young boys.
What the Springboks had to say about this
Faf de Klerk said that the ‘opportunity to partner with a brand like L’Oréal Paris, a brand synonymous with excellence, is truly an honour’. He added that the brand resonates with his commitment to looking and feeling his best, whether on the rugby field or not.
Kolbe echoed De Klerk’s sentiment saying that, ‘partnering with L’Oréal Paris Men Expert is an incredible opportunity to inspire men to invest more time into their appearance and well-being. This campaign is about empowering men to embrace self-care and confidence’.
Other African stars part of L’Oréal Paris family
The Springbok players join other African stars such as actress Thuso Mbedu and Nigeria’s Temi Otedola, who are part of the L’Oréal Paris family.
Kolbe and De Klerk are part of L’Oréal South Africa, while Mbedu and Otedola represent the sub-Saharan Africa region.
At first, Nigerian actress Temi Otedola kept her followers in suspense about her collaboration with the French beauty brand. A delighted Otedola said that ‘words cannot describe how honoured I am to partner with L’Oréal Paris make-up’. She recalls it being one of the first beauty products she was aware of as a young girl while playing with her mom’s make-up.
