Celine’s haute parfumerie collection, created by the French house’s artistic and image director Hedi Slimane, is pushing further into the bath and body segment with the launch of a liquid soap, hand cream, body milk and hair mist this fall.
Those follow on from the introduction of solid soaps, Cologne Céleste perfumed body oil and bath milk last year.
They come as consumers are increasingly playing with how they use prestige fragrance, moving toward a whole-body, multi-layered approach.
In Celine’s new offering, the liquid soap, body milk and hand cream come in the brand’s Parade, La Peau Nue, Reptile and Cologne Céleste fragrances. The hair mist is available with the scents of Parade, Reptile and Black Tie.
Their amber or white colored bottles and tubes are sustainable, made of 50 percent recycled PET or 95 percent aluminium. They come with black pumps or caps embellished with Celine’s Triomphe symbol, and labels are embossed with what look like 17th-century moldings.
Celine in mid-March had revealed it is launching into the makeup category with lipstick, called Le Rouge Celine. The first lipstick of the collection, called Rouge Triomphe, will be on counter in mid-October, first on the brand’s global e-commerce platforms, then in select doors. Another 14 shades are due out in January 2025.
The line, with formulations comprising around 89 percent natural ingredients and names such as Nightclubbing, is to be extended with more products, such as five tinted lip balms in spring. Mascara, eyeliner and powder are among products due out, but their exact timeline has not yet been revealed for next year.
Celine teased the lipstick line in its fashion film for winter 2024. Glimpses of the lipstick appeared throughout the spot, which featured models striding through numerous tony Paris locations, such as the Musée Bourdelle and Salle Pleyel concert hall. They wore the number 13 shade, which is a nude.
Lipstick marked the birth of Celine Beauté, the first cosmetics line in the house’s history, the brand said in a statement at the time.
It dovetails from Slimane’s launch of the Celine haute parfumerie collection, which debuted in 2019 with nine perfumes. Today, there are 12 in the line. The latest introduction, in April, was Zouzou, fronted by Esther-Rose McGregor.
