In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble, the renowned filmmaker revealed that he had considered replacing actress Amruta Subhash in his film Choked due to unreasonable demands made by her agent. Following this revelation, Anurag clarified his statement on social media and addressed the subsequent online trolling directed at Amruta.

Anurag Kashyap’s CLARIFIES on remark about Amruta Subhas

Taking to his Instagram Story, Anurag Kashyap shared a heartfelt note to clarify the context of his statement. He wrote, “A lot of people are shitting on my dear friend @amrutasubhash after my interview. This post is to inform that I took her example because I could with asking her. Such is the love and trust between us. The film in question was Choked and she did that film beautifully. Culprit here was the agency, who made demands on her behalf and once I called Amruta, she didn’t know what they were asking and immediately corrected it and today she has even left the said agency.”

Amruta Subhash’s response to Anurag Kashyap’s clarification

Amruta Subhash, touched by Anurag’s public defense, reposted his Instagram Story. She expressed her gratitude by writing, “I am deeply touched by this Anurag. Thank you.” Amruta also shared the same note in her Instagram post, captioning it, “Thank you @anuragkashyap10. This gesture has touched me deeply. I chose my friends very wisely. I am lucky to have you as my friend.”

Anurag Kashyap on Amruta Subhas’ demands

During the interview, Anurag Kashyap discussed how the excessive demands of celebrities or their representatives can sometimes surpass actual production costs. He recounted how Amruta’s agent called him with a list of demands. Upon hearing this, Anurag informed the agent that Amruta was being fired. However, when he spoke to Amruta, she clarified that she was unaware of these demands and promptly corrected the situation. Following this incident, Amruta decided to leave the agency in question.

Speaking of the professional front, Anurag will be seen next as an antagonist in the crime-thriller series Bad Cop, starring Gulshan Devaiah.
