According to sources, Rajnath Singh, the senior BJP leader who won from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, is likely to continue as the Union Defence Minister.
Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi will meet his probable Cabinet ministers and MPs over a cuppa ahead of the oath-taking ceremony in Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:15 pm. Most new joinees of the Modi 3.0 Cabinet, including Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari, have already started getting calls.
All MPs, who will take the oath of office along with Narendra Modi, have been invited to Modi’s residence for tea at 11:30 am.
According to sources, Rajnath Singh, the senior BJP leader who won from the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, is likely to continue as the Union Defence Minister.
Meanwhile, sources said Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena will not be a part of the NDA government.
The saffron party is likely to select new faces for the NDA government’s Cabinet as around 20 of its former ministers have lost in the Lok Sabha polls and new Rajya Sabha vacancies won’t be available soon.

JD(U)’s Ramnath Thakur said, “I got a call around 8:35 am today and Nadda ji informed me about the tea party. They also sent me an invite for the swearing-in.”
He added, “I don’t have any favourite ministry. Whatever they will give, I will take.”
