The fourth generation story of the show began and people loved Abhira-Armaan. Samridhii Shukla and Shehzada Dhami played the lead roles. Pratiksha Honmukhe played the parallel lead, Ruhi. However, within a few months, Shehzada and Pratiksha were removed from the show for their unprofessional behaviour. They were asked to leave by producer Rajan Shahi. It was being reported that Shehzada and Pratiksha were dating and they spent a lot of time together that delayed shoots. Shehzada also mistreated the staff and Pratiksha was not good with her work. Rajan Shahi has explained many times that he does not like indiscipline on sets and believes that nobody is bigger than the show. He also revealed that Shehzada had attitude problems and wanted people on sets to call him ‘sir’. Post that, we saw Rohit Purohit replacing Shehzada as Armaan while Garvita Sadhwani replaced Pratiksha Honmukhe as Ruhi.

Recently, Rajan Shahi once again spoke about this matter. He spoke to Galatta India and said that there were problems since the start but it was just 70 percent. However, he knew that this will keep growing every day. He shared that he knew that the content will get affected and they both were not that kind of people whom he can sit and explain as that kind of intelligence level was not there.
He said that both the actors disrespected seniors, did not wish to work and had become stars in their heads. He added that they also took many retakes and disrespected his directors. He shared that his team can groom those who work hard and have the passion but with these stars they had no talent but big attitude issues.
Rajan Shahi reveals it took him just 2 days to cast Rohit and Garvita
Rajan Shahi said that he saw this going on for a while and finally decided. He further spoke about how he brought Rohit Purohit and Garvita on-board. He said that he decided about Rohit and Garvita just a day before. He asked his casting team to find him two actors and he already worked with Garvita in Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si and the casting team showed him Rohit Purohit’s work.
He saw Rohit and asked his stylist to give him a makeover as Rohit had long hair and beard. He said that Rohit has worked for 15 years in the industry and has that humility and the desire to work. Soon, he asked Garvita to reach the sets and they immediately did a mock shoot.
They also did a few scenes and shot from 2 pm to morning 6 am and he quickly got the scenes edited and shared with the channel. He told the channel people to watch these scenes as they will be the new faces of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Rajan Shahi revealed that the channel always trusted him because he has worked with them for 18 years but they were shocked with the decision. They even asked Rajan Shahi to wait till IPL ends as that would affect the TRPs. But Rajan Shahi told them that he cannot function as a maker and hence had to do this.
He soon got the approval and then he told the entire team that Shehzada, Pratiksha will leave and they have Rohit, Garvita joining. Soon, Rohit and Garvita were told about it and the next day they began shooting.
