POLICE have launched an investigation into an “unexplained” death after a man was found dead in Glasgow city centre.
The alarm was raised at around 11.50pm last night after officers received reports of a man having been found seriously injured.
Emergency crews raced to the William Street area of the city, near the M8.
Several police cars and ambulance crews were seen in the lane near the Hilton hotel.
Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops confirmed that the death is being treated as “unexplained”.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a man having been found seriously injured in the William Street area of Glasgow around 11.50pm on Friday, 24 May, 2024.
“Emergency services attended, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
