Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda ahead of the launch of his upcoming film, the actor shared his insights when the actor was not getting paid enough to feature in the industry. Read along to find more details.
Hyderabad: Actor Vijay Deverakonda alongside Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur and producer Dil Raju were seen promoting their upcoming film The Family Star, which is expected to hit theaters on April 5, 2024. During the interaction with the media, Vijay was asked about the remunerations he takes for the film. Deverakonda appeared in superhit films like Liger, Arjun Reddy, Geetha Govindham, Dear Commorade, World Famous Lover, and many other films.
Vijay Deverakonda Reveals His Being Underpaid
Responding to the reporter Vijay Deverakonda said, “I’m a star but I genuinely took home a good amount of money only recently with my film Kushi. Before that, when you’re an outsider you’d have to forget about money, you have to set up your place and understand your performance and learn about working in films (sic).” Vijay also emphasised the fact that earning money through films was not an easy task for him. Vijay recalled the time when he used to take home ‘peanuts’ after featuring in Kushi. Vijay Deverakonda recalled, “I used to take peanuts until Kushi. Now, after Kushi, I’m taking my market price till then I was taking very little (sic).”
The Arjun Reddy actor further added that he prefers to dedicatedly work on one film and due to Covid Vijay had to wait 2, 6, or even a year to release a film. Vijay Deverakonda also mentioned his comfortable market price. Vijay revealed, “It is the producer who sets the market price, depending on how happy he is to invest in the project (sic).” He also mentioned that he will be backing Vijay’s upcoming two films.

Parasuram Petla is directing The Family Star featuring Vijay Deverakonda. Mrunal Thakur plays the female protagonist. Also, the film is expected to be a total family entertainment. In the trailer, Vijay is seen playing the role of a middle-class family-oriented person. The film also portrays a few elements of romance and family drama. Interestingly the director and Vijay Deverakonda had earlier come together in a superhit film Geetha Govindham. The film is all set to release on April 5, 2024.
