White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was heard repeatedly telling reporters a press gaggle was off the record before former President Barack Obama’s voice was heard.
During a gaggle on the way to Queens, New York, Jean-Pierre was heard saying, “I want to make sure we’re all aware that this is off the record. Off the record. Off the record. Off the record.”
Meanwhile, Obama was heard saying, “Hey people! How’s it going everybody?”
The audio was then cut off.

The fundraiser will feature former President Bill Clinton as well as Obama in an attempt to boost enthusiasm for President Joe Biden.
“The rare and highly anticipated gathering of three Democratic presidents will raise over $25 million, according to a release by the Biden campaign, which is characterizing it as the most successful political fundraiser in American history,” NBC News reports.
It added, “Some of the biggest donors will have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with the three Democratic presidents, shot by famed portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz. The cheapest tickets have sold for $250, with the largest contributions coming from people who gave $250,000 and $500,00.”
