What did Atlantic City casino employees ever do to longtime lawmaker John Burzichelli to deserve such shabby treatment from him in one of his first major bills after joining the state Senate?

Last week, Burzichelli, D-Gloucester, introduced what he called “compromise” legislation that barges in to muddy the waters just as a bill to ban smoking on the casino floors entirely is finally making some headway.

Although it adds some minor restrictions, Burzichelli’s bill basically says, “If ya got ‘em, keep on smoking ‘em,” the health of dealers, servers, slot attendants and non-smoking patrons be damned.
