Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 13 arrived on a two-day trip to UAE. President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the PM. Both leaders introduced the UPI RuPay card service in Abu Dhabi. He was given a guard of honour on his arrival in the country.

He was later accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Qasr Al Watan, the Presidential Palace. The leaders will then hold meetings to take forward the bilateral strategic partnership.

This is the Prime Minister’s seventh visit to the UAE since 2015.

During his meeting with UAE President, PM Narendra Modi said, “I thank you for the warm welcome. Whenever I come here to meet you, I always feel I have come to meet my family. We’ve met 5 times in the last 7 months, it’s very rare and reflects our closerelationship.”

He also said he will address the members of the Indian community from all the Emirates of the UAE at a special event in Abu Dhabi.
