Both films had some scoring factors attached to them. Speaking about Dunki, it marked the debut collaboration between Shah Rukh and director Rajkumar Hirani. Coming to Salaar, it marked the first project together for director Prashanth Neel and Prabhas, so there was a strong buzz around the film.
Dunki VS Salaar at the box office
The Shah Rukh Khan starrer emerged victorious at the worldwide box office, with earnings standing at 470.60 crores gross. In India, the film did a business of 232 crores net (273.76 crores gross). In the overseas market, the verdict of the blockbuster was attained, with a collection of 196.84 crores gross coming in.

Speaking about Prabhas’ magnum opus, it amassed a global total of 615.26 crores gross. Out of it, 480.26 crores gross (407 crores net) came from India. The overseas market contributed 135 crores gross.
Budget of Dunki & Salaar
Shah Rukh Khan’s film enjoyed the benefit of carrying a reasonable cost. With a reported budget of 120 crores, Dunki easily achieved the status of a box office success. It’s also SRK’s least expensive film in the past few years. Considering the global collection, it turned out to be a blockbuster.
On the other hand, Salaar was mounted on a huge budget. As per trade buzz, the biggie carried a cost of 350 crores, so it emerged as a theatrical success in India with minimal returns. Globally, it’s a big box office winner.
Battle of ratings
In terms of IMDb ratings, Dunki has been rated 7.2 out of 10, with a total vote share of 62,000 users. Salaar has secured a rating of 6.5 out of 10 with a vote share of 58,000.
Speaking about Rotten Tomatoes, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer has an audience score of 76% but has only 53% rating on Tomatometer. On the other hand, Prabhas’ magnum opus is enjoying an audience score of 86% and has a rating of 73% on the Tomatometer.
