Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) is ripping into her state’s former governor and 2024 presidential hopeful Nikki Haley.
During an campaign event for former President Donald Trump, Mace claimed, “Nikki Haley is China’s favorite governor.”
“And, in fact, if she had her way, [China] would be manufacturing spy balloons right here in our state,” she added.

The events come weeks ahead of the Feb. 24 Republican presidential primary election in South Carolina.
Last month, Mace endorsed Trump over Haley for the Republican nomination.
“Today I’m endorsing Donald J. Trump for President. I don’t see eye to eye perfectly with any candidate. And until now I’ve stayed out of it. But the time has come to unite behind our nominee. To be honest, it’s been a complete shit show since he left the White House,” Mace wrote in a post on X.
She added, “Our country needs to reverse all the damage Joe Biden has done. By every barometer, our lives and our nation were better under President Trump. The economy was booming, our border was locked down and our nation and her allies were safer because our adversaries feared him. Donald Trump’s record in his first term should tell every American how vital it is he be returned to office.”

Mace’s support of Trump comes after he backed a primary challenger against her in 2022.
It also comes after she said in 2021 there needs to be a “new voice for the Republican Party to lead us out of the crisis going forward.”
