‘Dunki’ has emerged as Shah Rukh Khan’s hattrick hit of the year, having scored over Rs 100 crore at the end of its first weekend. Anil Grover, who shares the frame with SRK in the movie, has now shared an interesting anecdote from the shoot days.
In January this year, actor-comedian Sunil Grover suffered a heart attack and had to undergo an operation on the very day when his brother Anil was to meet Shah Rukh Khan to discuss ‘Dunki’.
Speaking to YouTuber Siddharth Kannan, Anil revealed, “On January 27, he (Sunil Grover) was going to get operated and that was the day we had our second sitting with Shah Rukh sir. So I was feeling very torn in that moment. That situation was very tricky for me. That was a very difficult day for me.” After taking his brother’s blessings, Anil went ahead with the meeting, he shared, “The last message I had sent was to bhaiya only that I am going there and he gave his wishes and blessings. It took me a while to decide if I should go or not. Finally, I spoke to him and he gave me some courage. Then, I went in.”
Interestingly, Sunil Grover’s last big screen appearance was in ‘Jawan’, where he shared screen space with Shah Rukh Khan. While brother Anil went on to work with SRK in the recently released ‘Dunki’. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki’ also stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani and Vikram Kochhar. The film has earned over Rs 250 crore at the worldwide box office.
