Vehicle firebombed in early morning Christmas Eve horror attack at Scots car park

A VEHICLE was torched in an early morning horror attack on Christmas Eve.

Cops raced to a car park in the Burns Road area of Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, just after 2am on Sunday.

Officers say they discovered a white Skoda Octavia car in flames.

Two men were seen fleeing in the direction of North Carbrain Road in the town.

One is described as being dressed in dark clothing and carrying a white plastic carrier bag.

The second man was also wearing dark clothing.

Cops are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.

Detective Constable Craig Hartley said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has dash-cam or private CCTV that could help with our enquiries.

“We are also looking to speak to the men seen at the time or anyone who knows who they are or where they went.

“If you can help please contact us on 101, quoting incident number 0331 of Sunday, 24 December, 2023, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
