PLANNERS behind a controversial swingers club have launched a desperate bid to stay open.
Cornucopia in Sighthill, Edinburgh has faced a year-long battle as the council has ordered it to close its doors.
Earlier this year councillors rejected plans for the adult-only premises.
The venue was served an enforcement notice by the City of Edinburgh Council after it continued to operate without planning permission.
The club was ordered to stop using the former Edinburgh Napier University offices on Bankhead Industrial Estate by January 11.
But an appeal has been lodged with the Scottish Government which will determine its future, as reported by Edinburgh Live.
Cornucopia advertises swingers nights and kink gatherings, with special playrooms and BDSM areas.
Operators had an initial application denied over public safety fears.
The council also highlighted objections about issues concerning anti-social behaviour.
An appeal in June was refused by the local authority.
The public can write to the Scottish Government about the matter until December 29.
A final decision is expected to be determined in March.
