Scots spa destination crowned best hotel wedding venue in Scotland

A TOP Scottish spa destination has been crowned as the best hotel wedding venue in the west of the country.

SimpsInns’ The Gailes Hotel & Spa on Marine Drive in Irvine, Ayrshire, was awarded the prestigious gong at a glitzy awards bash last month.

The coastal resort received the top accolade at the Confetti Wedding Awards 2025.

The hotel and spa is owned by Irvine-based Simpson family, who are the driving force behind SimpsInns.

They own and operate a collection of award- winning hotels, restaurants, bars, spas, golf and leisure activities along the Ayrshire coast, including The Loans at Troon.

Located just 40 minutes from Glasgow, The Gailes Hotel & Spa has a reputation as one of Ayrshire’s leading luxury wellness destinations, offering a collection of over 50 personalised treatments, day spa packages and overnight chill-out breaks.

Following a £250,000 revamp, the Lagavulin Suite at the hotel is able to host smaller, intimate weddings.

It also offers up a picturesque outdoor Wedding Pavilion in the private gardens.

There is also a rooftop conservatory and garden terrace which have stunning views looking out towards the isle of Arran.

Last year, the seaside venue was crowned spa hotel of the year in a national awards ceremony.

The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) and Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (CIBTAC) Annual Awards were held in November.

Known for its rigorous judging and standards of high quality, entering the BABTAC and CIBTAC awards is a must for all therapists looking to progress their career or business.

Meanwhile, CIBTAC is one of the longest established awarding bodies within the spa, health and beauty sector.

And The Gailes Hotel & Spa was awarded a top accolade, taking home Boutique Spa Hotel of the Year.
