Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’ and all the guest panelists who appeared in the latest episode including YouTuber Ranveer Alhabadia, Apoorva Makhija, and more are currently under the radar for using derogatory comments and foul language on the platform. However, this isn’t the first online show that has been embroiled in controversy for the use of provocative language. Remember the infamous ‘AIB Roast’ ft Karan Johar, Ranveer Singh, and Arjun Kapoor?
Back then also a lot of eyebrows were raised and strong opinions were shared. One of the opinions that came out loud and clear was of Mr. Perfectionist – Aamir Khan. During a press meet event, he addressed the usage of inappropriate language on AIB and said, “25 gaaliyan de kar agar ap sochte ho me impress ho jaunga, to galiyon se impress one vali meri umar nikal gyi h, me ab 14 saal ka nahi hu ke gaali sun kr hasunga ke hahaha yr gaali di usne.” (“If you think I’ll be impressed after hearing 25 abuses, then the age of being impressed by abuses has long passed for me. I’m not 14 years old anymore to laugh and say, ‘Haha, he just swore!'”)
“Agar ap muje hasana chahte ho, to bagair kisi ko chot pohchaye, ap muje hasa k dikhao to muje majja ayegaa usme. Kisi ke rang par comment krna or kisi ki sexuality k upr comment krna or usko joke banana, or me apke sath hasu, to muje to hassi ni aa rhai h usme, (“If you want to make me laugh, then do it without hurting anyone—that’s what I would truly enjoy. Making jokes about someone’s skin color or their sexuality and expecting me to laugh along doesn’t amuse me at all.”),” he continued.
