In Bollywood, some actors see their dreams come true, while others fade into obscurity. It’s not uncommon for an actor to gain attention not for their films, but for their personal life. Today, we will share the story of an actress who had an affair with a Pakistani cricketer, but their relationship never led to marriage. Later, she became involved with her friend’s husband, got pregnant and eventually married him.

She is none other than Amrita Arora, sister of Bollywood diva Malaika Arora. Born in 1981, Amrita started her career as a video jockey (VJ), much like her sister. She made her Bollywood debut with the 2002 film Kitne Door Kitne Paas, but the film failed to make an impact both commercially and critically. Following that, Amrita often made headlines due to her personal life, overshadowing her professional career.

In 2004, rumours circulated regarding Amrita’s alleged affair with Pakistani-origin England cricketer Usman Afzaal. Reportedly, the two fell in love and Amrita later admitted in an interview that she had feelings for Usman. The two were often seen together at high-profile parties and Amrita also helped his brother pursue a Bollywood career.

However, their relationship never turn into marriage and in 2009, Amrita decided to marry businessman Shakeel Ladak. Shakeel had been her college friend, but they lost touch for some time. After Shakeel’s first marriage ended in 2008, the two reconnected, and Shakeel divorced his  wife, Nisha, before tying the knot with Amrita Arora the following year.
