Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg fired back at President Donald Trump after being blamed for the recent plane crash in Washington, D.C.
Sixty-seven people are feared dead after an American Airlines plane collided with a Blackhawk helicopter over the Potomac River late Wednesday. The president reacted to the news during a Thursday afternoon press conference by blaming the Biden administration for their DEI hiring practices.

Buttigieg responded to Trump’s attack via a post on X, formerly Twitter — where he called the president’s remarks “despicable.”

He added, “President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.”
