For those looking for more affordable options, Xpress Lite offers lower fares with 3kg of cabin baggage allowance, in addition to the standard 7kg.
Air India Express is all set to increase the free check-in baggage allowance on international flights.
Having said that, passengers can now take up to 30 kg of check-in baggage, up from the previous 20 kg, along with an additional 7 kg for cabin baggage.
This updated baggage policy is available on all Air India Express flights connecting India, the Middle East, and Singapore, as per the Financial Express.
Besides this, passengers can also carry up to two pieces of cabin baggage, with a combined weight of no more than 7kg. This includes items like a laptop bag, handbag, or small backpack (max size: 40cm x 30cm x 10cm) to fit under the seat.
Extra Baggage Benefits for Families with Infants
Talking about families travelling with infants, they can carry an additional 10 kg of check-in baggage, bringing their total allowance to 47 kg, including the 7 kg of cabin baggage.
Premium Xpress Biz Class Features
For business-class passengers, Air India Express offers Xpress Biz, which comes with the following:
- 40kg check-in baggage allowance.
- Recliner seats with a generous 58-inch seat pitch.
- Priority check-in, baggage handling, and boarding.
- Complimentary hot meals from the Gourmair menu for a premium in-flight experience.
Budget-Friendly Option: Xpress Lite
Travellers who prefer a cost-effective option can choose Xpress Lite, which offers:
- Lower fares.
- 3kg cabin baggage allowance (in addition to the standard 7kg).
Extra Baggage at Discounted Rates
Passengers needing extra baggage can pre-book additional allowances at discounted rates:
- 15kg for domestic flights.
- 20kg for international flights.
