70th National Film Awards Live Updates: The winners of the 70th National Film Award were announced on Friday, August 16, 2024. The fraternity will honour films certified by the Censor Board between January 1 and December 31, 2022. The winners will be awarded by President Droupadi Murmu during a ceremony scheduled for October 2024. In a significant announcement, the jury has also revealed the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

At the 70th National Film Awards, Sharmila Tagore’s Gulmohar, which also features Manoj Bajpayee, was honoured with the Best Hindi Film award. In other key categories, Arijit Singh won Best Playback Singer for his work in Brahmastra, while Pritam received the award for Best Music Director for the same film. A.R. Rahman was recognized for Best Background Score for Ponniyin Selvan 2, and Anand Krishnamurthy took home the Best Sound Design award for Ponniyin Selvan.
